This architectural portrait commemorates P’s mid-19th-century stroll through Brooklyn with Walt Whitman, during which they accidentally interrupted a rather loud territorial dispute between two roof-dwelling Brownie clans. She painted this specific façade while happily seeking refuge from a sudden downpour on a remarkably narrow stone cornice. It beautifully immortalizes the storybook charm tucked away within the human world's historic masonry.
